Mary Kay Rose, LPC
Mary Kay Rose is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of VA and NY, as well as in the District of Columbia. She is a graduate of Cornell University and James Madison University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor for over 19 years.
Her specialties include working with people experiencing, or who have experienced, trauma, OCD and/or anxiety, as well as supporting people through the change and grief process. She also works with people who are highly sensitive and empathic. She values the power of relationship, wholeness,creativity and connection in the healing process.
EMDR,Trauma focused CBT, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) are modalities she has studied intensively and frequently uses in her work. Mary Kay has studied a variety of holistic therapies which she incorporates in both her own life and her work, including Yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, journaling and meditation. She encourages the deep inner listening and acceptance that facilitate change and growth.
She believes it is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to partner with others in the counseling process and feels it is a gift to witness the human capacity we all have for change, growth, connection and resilience. Mary Kay feels privileged to support people to become more present in their lives, connect deeply with themselves and their values and move toward desired intentions and outcomes.
